Jones Road Mee Goreng, Penang.(Halal)

The Jones Road Mee Goreng has been operating for more than 25 years.

In early days the Mee Goreng was operating at Jones Road, Penang. It was located near to the Road T-Junction (Jalan Jones & Tingkat Jones). Normally after 4.00pm there were a large crowd around the stall. Some customers were sitting in their cars, standing around the stall and sitting along the edge concrete drain to enjoy the mee goreng.The Stall has moved to Hup Aun Cafe which is located at the Junction of Jalan Pasar and Jalan Moulmein and it is still popular among the Penangnites.

'Tau Chiam' / 'Bak Moey' (Pork Porridge), Perak Lane, Penang (Non Halal)

The Hawker Stall is located among a row of hawkers along Perak Lane (i.e. Near to the Traffic Light Junction of Perak Lane & Jelutong Road). It is just opposite the Famous Fish Noodle Soup of Perak Lane.

This Hawker Stall is very popular for its 'Tau Chiam'. It is a kind of noodle. Besides 'Tau Chiam', the old man is selling other kinds of noodles (i.e. Cintan Mee, Bee Hoon (Thin & Fat Rice Vermicelli), Mee Sua/Misau' (Salted Chinese Noodle) and 'Bak Moey'(Pork Porridge) too. You will find that the soup is very clear.If you want to try out the 'Tau Chiam', you must prepare to wait for at least 30 - 45 mins and that depend on the crowd but it is worth waiting for it.
