1st Charlie Brown Cafe Malaysia @ Straits Quay, Tanjong Tokong, Penang. (Halal)

My facebook friends Reggie Gunn and his wife Caleste Betty who flied all the way from Kota Kinabalu to Penang Island which is also known as 'The Pearl of the Orient' to celebrate their 1st Anniversary and they checked in at Hard Rock Hotel Penang from 16th to 18th July 2011 (i.e. 3D 2N).

On 2nd day (i.e. 17th July 2011 / Sunday) we dropped by Straits Quay which is Penang's first and only retail marina on our way back to Hard Rock Hotel Penang after visiting the Pinang Peranakan Mansion at Church Street and having our lunch at Hing Kee Restaurant at China Street. Straits Quay is one of the tourist hotspots and also Penang's latest must-visit destination.

After the sightseeing at Straits Quay, friends decided to step into Charlie Brown Cafe Malaysia which was officially opened at Straits Quay on the early April this year to have a feel about of it which is the first outlet of Charlie Brown Cafe in Malaysia. Charlie Brown is the main character in the comic strip Peanuts in the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. Pictures of every Peanuts Characters are found everywhere on the ceiling, windows, tables and walls of the outlet. Inside the outlet is decorated with Peanuts decor, toys, mechandise and sculptures which will give you a kind of ambiance that you are in one of the fun cartoon lands. Children and teenagers will definately feel excited and thrilled of about the well decorated outlet.

Yuk !!!! The stinky smell of unfresh clams got into my nostrils.
Not a single clam flesh was found sticking to the shell.
What a GREAT DISPOINTMENT !!! about this Dish and we did not finish this Dish.

No. 16 : Creamy Seafood Pasta -  Closed Up View showing the white substance on the inner shells of the clams and did not understand how the white substance got there.

In fact, I was reluctant to patronize the place on that day but could not be helped because of my guests. I did warn them about it because I have heard so much complaints from others who have visited Charlie Brown Cafe leaving me no confidence of trying out the food. After the foresaid incidents which gave me zero confidence to dine-in there again.
