On 10th February 2012 (i.e. Friday) just immediately after the Chinese New Year (CNY), I decided to go to MPPP Annex Pasar Air Itam"/Food Court to have Ah Chai's Hock Kean Char for my late supper. I learned that he had a long break during the Chinese New Year and he just resumed business as usual on that day. The taste of his Hock Kean Char was still remained unchanged but the price for my usual order has gone up by RM0.50.

The Char Koay Kak Hawker has been operating for more than 35 years and has been considered as one of the famous Char Koay Kak Stalls on Penang Island.
Long time ago the Hawker used to station at the junction of Burmah Road and Macalister Lane in front of a 'Kopitam' which has been demolished and 3 Storey Building has been erected there. Currently Hong Leong Bank Berhad is occupying the building now.

Sometimes it is a bit oily. You can inform the lady that you do not wish your Char Koay Kak to be that oily and she is willingly to oblige your request.

The interior decoration of SOHO Free House makes you feel that you are in a English Pub and whereas SOHO Penthouse is fitted with glittering chandeliers on the ceiling together with the fittings to give you a classic ambience.
